Context
The situation and the problem
Previous-year examination papers at VIT were scattered across seniors, messaging groups, personal drives and disconnected resources.
Students needed a reliable way to reach the right paper for a subject and exam, while maintaining a fast-growing collection manually was becoming increasingly difficult.
Approach
The decision behind the experience
The architecture follows one core requirement: a student should reach the right paper as quickly as possible. Resources are organised around academic context instead of behaving like generic file storage.
A service-oriented backend, operational administration and collaborative content model allow the collection to grow without sacrificing discoverability or reliability.
- 01Find subject
- 02Choose exam

Product
What we designed and built
We built a complete academic platform rather than a static file repository.
The system combines the student application, authentication, resource discovery, REST APIs, backend services, database architecture, administration tools and AWS infrastructure required to operate at campus scale.
Key features
The system in practical terms
- 01Previous-year CAT and FAT papers
- 02Subject-based resource discovery
- 03Searchable academic library
- 04JWT authentication
- 05Admin and content management
- 06REST APIs
- 07AI-assisted paper-pattern analysis
- 08Cloud infrastructure
Outcome
What changed after delivery
VIT Paper Vault became more than a resource library: it became working academic infrastructure for the student community.
Project records show 35,000+ students served, 500,000+ visits, 1.05 million requests handled and 1,200+ exam papers, with 99.8% uptime and more than 60 contributors.
